After thorough consultation with president-elect Shirley M. Collado and search committee chair Brian Dickens, we have decided to defer the timing of the search for a Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer to the fall semester, after Dr. Collado officially assumes her role as President.

Dr. Collado has indicated her strong commitment to ensuring that IC’s first CIDO will have all the tools necessary to be successful in this important work. To that end, she plans to consult intensively with the search committee and members of the campus community at the start of the new academic year with respect to the CIDO’s reporting line, institutional support, vision, and scope of responsibilities. The search will re-launch early in the new academic year, with a redefined timeline for completion. The CIDO search committee has worked diligently this year with Neumann Executive Search to identify a talented pool of applicants. We anticipate that the pool of candidates will remain largely intact for the re-launch of the search. We also have positive indications that the pool of applicants will be further deepened and strengthened by the opportunity to work under Dr. Collado’s leadership in creating the most inclusive educational experience and community at Ithaca College.
