If you love writing and helping others become more confident and successful writers themselves, apply to work at the Writing Center! Full description and application instructions are below. A completed application will include a detailed letter of intent, a résumé, and two expository writing samples, at least one of which should be source-based and include citations; applicants who have taken AWI and Argument or other source-based expository Writing courses at IC strongly preferred. QUALIFICATIONS
APPLICATION PROCESS: The Writing Center will begin accepting applications for the Fall 2017 semester on Monday, February 13th. Download an application or pick one up in the Writing Center (Smiddy 107). A completed application will include a detailed letter of intent, a résumé, and two expository writing samples, at least one of which should be source-based and include citations. Applications may be turned in at Smiddy 107 or emailed to Professor Jaime Warburton at jwarburton@ithaca.edu. All applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM on March 24th. The strongest candidates will then be asked to complete a series of exercises and to schedule an interview. New tutors will be required to take a 1-credit Writing Center Pedagogy course during their first semester of tutoring.
