IC PRSSA Hosting 16th Annual SWISH for Make-A-Wish Basketball TournamentContributed by Colby Daboul on 03/26/17 The Ithaca College Public Relations Student Society of America hosts its 16th annual Swish for Make-A-Wish® basketball tournament. The event will be held on Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Fitness Center at Ithaca College. This annual basketball game raises money for the Make-A-Wish® Central New York chapter, which has granted over 1,500 wishes to children in 15 counties, including Tompkins County. Local community members and students are welcome to join the event. In addition, ICPRSSA launches a new rewards program for local businesses. To make this event a success, ICPRSSA depends on the participation of students and the local community. There are a number of ways to participate. Create a team and join the tournament by registering for the event. The fee for entering the tournament will be $10 per player, and teams may between five and eight players. Food will be provided at the event and free T-shirts will be given to teams who sign up before April 2. Spectators, whether students or community members, can enjoy food with a $3 donation. DJ Washburn will be providing entertainment throughout the tournament and a wish-kid from central New York will be making an appearance during the event. All proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Central New York.
