It's fall registration! Join us for Festival Management in Cultural Context, THEA 47904-01, CRN 22560. Meets M/W/F, 10:00-10:50a.m.
From Burning Man to Bayreuth, the lines have blurred between popular culture and The Cultured. This special topics course offered through Theatre Arts is an exploration of festival and venue management within a cultural context. Course topics include marketing and booking; operations, safety and sanitation; crowd, artist, and vendor management; staffing and sustainability. Through hands-on projects and student-led presentations, the course explores the evolution of festivals, their management, and future trends. All majors encouraged. Pre-requisites waived.
