On April 8, 2017, Conger provided comments on papers making up a panel entitled “Understandings of Aging men in the Revolutionary Atlantic World” at the Organization of American Historians annual conference, New Orleans, Louisiana.

The panel collectively explored mental and physical debilities, and how early Anglo-American and Caribbean peoples reacted to disabilities among an older male population.  The authors explored age as culturally determined, and wrestled with how age and gender intertwined in complex and complicated way in a post-Revolutionary Enlightenment world.
