Dept of Education focus groups on campus April 19th and April 20thContributed by Tiffani Ziemann on 04/11/17 Representatives from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) will visit Ithaca College on April 19 and April 20 to conduct focus groups and hold private office hours regarding the atmosphere on campus related to sexual harassment, sexual assault, and sexual violence. All IC community members are encouraged to take this opportunity to provide OCR with direct feedback. View the invitation from OCR here. The United States Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR), will be conducting campus meetings to discuss how Ithaca College responds to incidents of sexual harassment and violence. During these meetings, OCR staff will also provide attendees with general information about OCR and offer attendees the opportunity to share information relevant to OCR’s investigation. OCR invites the College community to the following meetings: Wednesday, April 19, 2017 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Ithaca Falls Room Campus Center Thursday, April 20, 2017 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. VIP Room Athletics and Events Center OCR staff will also be available for individual appointments to discuss sexual harassment and sexual assault issues at the following times: April 19, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Ithaca Falls Room, Campus Center April 20, 2017 from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. VIP Room, Athletics and Events Center Any questions? Focus groups may discuss sensitive issues, and we urge all students to respect the privacy of others.
