Therapeutic recreation students and faculty present at NYSTRAContributed by Janice Elich Monroe on 04/13/17 Six Therapeutic Recreation (TR) majors, two TR faculty and the Program Director for the Center for Life Skills presented at the New York State Therapeutic recreation Association 22nd Annual Conference in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Justine Carey, Julianne Lagosz, Kaitlyn Scheik, Lindsey Schell, Adriana Cataldo and Alison Ricchiuti seniors in the Therapeutic Recreation Major presented a 90 minute session on Music as a Recreation Therapy Intervention. Justine Carey and Janice Elich Monroe presented a session entitled, Understanding Chronic Stress within Marginalized Populations and Veterans. Linda Heyne co-presented a session with Lynn Anderson from SUNY Cortland titled, A Sampler of Strengths-Based Implementation and Facilitation Strategies in RT/TR and Catherine Gooch presented a session titled, Service Learning: Creating Community Partnership Projects that Enrich and Energize Student Learning. Recent graduate, Sonya Griffiths presented a session titled, The Onset of Disability: Mourning and Forgiveness of Oneself. In addition, the Office of Alumni Affairs co-sponsored a successful alumni reception at the conference. Suffice it to say, Ithaca College was well represented at this regional conference. |
