During final exams we anticipate administering over 100 exams per day at Student Accessibility Services (SAS) for students registered with our office! We ask for your continued partnership to ensure that this process runs smoothly:
Sending Exams:
- To ensure that we have all exams and complete instructions (as well as any music files, audio/slides, etc.) we need to receive your exam and materials 24 hours in advance of the scheduled exam time. Please include your phone number – we may need to contact you during the exam, should the student have questions.
- Please indicate what color scantron is needed (blue, green, gray), and how long the class will have to complete the test so we can calculate time and a half and double time, as appropriate to the individual accommodation.
- If you are unable to send the exam through Workflow, send it via e-mail to tests@ithaca.edu. Please include the name of the student, the name of the class, and the date it will be taken. As we administer many exams from the same instructor, this will ensure accuracy of our exam administration.
- We receive exams in Workflow. We apologize for any automatic and multiple reminders that are sent until we are able to mark the exams as “Received.”
- Please communicate any emergent/changing testing needs to us directly (at tests@ithaca.edu or 4-1005), so that we can quickly make necessary preparations for the student. We need time to assign a proctor, find a different space, or ensure that any technology needed is ready and working.
Returning Exams:
- We deliver completed exams once a day to the respective Deans' offices. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to scan and email exams.
- You are welcome to pick up exams at the SAS office if that would better meet your needs and deadlines. Please let us know if we should hold the exam for you.
- Our office is located at 100 Rothschild Place.
