6th annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) Thursday May 18th, 2017. Take this time to help your institution become more aware of accessibly. This is celebrated on the third Thursday of every May. Take this time to help understand another facet of diversity and awareness! Global Accessibility Awareness Day is celebrated on the third Thursday of every May. This year is Thursday May 18, 2017! Seven years ago, two people working in the accessibility space said, "There should be a day when everyone around the world gets a chance to learn a little about accessibility and share with others doing the same thing." This is how GAAD was born. The first GAAD day only had a few events but was very popular and soon spread to many countries. Check out the progress at the Global Accessibility Awareness Day website athttp://globalaccessibilityawarenessday.org/ where you can see all the events that have happened in the past and will be happening this year. Please consider attending one of the many webinars celebrating this year's Global Accessibility Awareness Day. You can see the list and register at Blackboard's Global Accessibility Awareness Day events. http://webinars.blackboard.com/Global-Accessibility-Awareness-Day Take some time on Thursday to embrace accessibility and all the good work being done in the field today. |
