As part of our ongoing effort to be more student and client focused, we are changing the name of our department from Digital Instruction and Information Services to Information Technology to make it easier for people to find information about us.

You will see the name change gradually roll out over the course of the summer.  We will also sometimes use the phrase “IT@IC” to refer to ourselves and services we offer.

Yes, thank you, David. Just couldn't stand the appropriation of the DIIS acronym. Hopefully, you'll also encourage folks to make it clearer through some form of directory as to who works in IT instead of people having to tunnel endlessly to find out.

And, congratulations on your well-deserved appointment.

Hooray! And thank goodness! It is just too hard to pronounce DIIS out loud, and it was totally confusing for colleagues and people outside IC. IT (or ITS) is pretty standard everywhere else and it rolls off the tongue with ease. Such a relief!

Thank you for this. It is a student- and community-focused
decision - happy to see it.
