Students Elena Piëch '19 and Cal Goodin '19 interviewed alumnus Elijahda Warner '17, LGBT Center program director Luca Maurer, and Ithaca Transgender Support Group facilitator Natasha for WRFI Community Radio News, 88.1 FM.

Their news story focuses on the homicide of Josie Berrios, and the disproportionately high murder rate of transgender women of color in America. Their reporting centers this local tragedy, societal inequities and oppression that serve to make transgender women of color especially vulnerable, and resources to help.

Kudos to Elena and Cal for outstanding reporting during a very difficult time for our community, and to Elijahda and Natasha for their willingness to being interviewed while still grieving this loss.
