The server hardware that runs the www.ithaca.edu site (including Intercom) will be updated on Saturday, July 22. There will be some services unavailable during the upgrade, from 12 a.m. until 7 a.m. In addition to replacing aging hardware, the new infrastructure provides new functionality to improve web services.

Cloud. The architecture will allow better integration with cloud services. Pieces of the web site will be offloaded to cloud services in the coming months.

Single Sign-On. The new web infrastructure allows services to tie into the login.ithaca.edu single sign-on ecosystem. Once you enter your Netpass username and password into login.ithaca.edu, you will be able to access several services without needing to re-enter your username and password.

Security. The web site will now be all HTTPS encrypted. Old “http:” URLs will redirect to “https:” URLs. This change helps both privacy and confidence for content coming from the Ithaca College web site.

Thanks for your patience while we work to improve the web services.
