As per Ithaca College Policy 2.12.3 (10), “Only items pertaining to College business may be sent through the campus mail system.”

  1) Incoming personal mail/packages should be sent to employee's home address, not Ithaca College. IC Mail Service flags items which it interprets as not pertaining to college business, based on sender or if contents are easily identifiable by packaging or markings. Such items include, but are not limited to clothing/shoe/home furnishing vendors (Land's End; Zappos; Bed, Bath & Beyond, etc), flowers, wine, gifts (LTD Commodities, etc), automobile parts/tires (Rock Auto, etc). Flagged items will be held in the Mail Center and a notice will be sent to the employee's department. (Residence/Community Directors are exempt from the restriction since their home address is a residential hall on campus).

2) Outgoing personal mail/packages may be sent out only at one of the following locations:

  • Phillips Hall Post Office (USPS/FedEx/UPS/DHL prepaid dropoffs accepted; USPS stamps/postage available to purchase)
  • Mail Center (USPS/FedEx/UPS/DHL prepaid dropoffs accepted; UPS/FedEx shipping available to purchase)
  • US Mail dropbox outside Campus Center, accepting stamped mail

Personal mail/packages left with departmental pickups will be declined or returned when identified.
