Volunteers Needed: Help Welcome New Students on August 27Contributed by Lynne Pierce on 07/25/17 Our new students will arrive on Sunday, August 27, 2017, and the Office of Alumni Relations hopes you can help give them a warm welcome to the Ithaca College community! Faculty and staff volunteers are needed to assist with this year’s move-in day. Whether carrying boxes or answering questions, your presence that day will make a significant impression on our newest students and their families, who tell us year after year about what a positive impact our volunteers have on their move-in experience.
If you aren't able to lift or carry items — no worries! This year we have plenty of student volunteers who can help with those tasks. Even just your words of welcome and answers to questions can help our new students feel included as valued members of our campus community. By following the link below, volunteers can indicate the shift(s) they will work. The following two-hour shifts are available: · 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. · 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. · 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. · 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. You will need to arrive at a check-in location 15 minutes prior to your shift, where you will be given your location assignment. Details on this will be provided at the training session on Thursday, August 24, at 11 am – directly following the All College meeting in Emerson Suites. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Lynne Pierce at lpierce@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3846. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
