Ithaca College Information Technology is pleased to announce that you can now use Apple Airplay to mirror your iOS device, or Apple computers, to Apple TVs on the IthacaCollege-Guest Wi-Fi network. This is incredibly useful for users who would like to share their Apple mobile device screens with larger groups around campus, in and out of the classroom.

Recent changes to improve our network infrastructure and increase our bandwidth have allowed for us to announce this great new feature to our entire campus community. This is just one of several new features that have recently become available due to the hard work and diligence of the Architecture and Infrastructure (network) team to improve service across campus.

Here are instructions on how to join your Apple TV to the IthacaCollege-Guest Wi-Fi, using your Apple TV remote:

  • On Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), go to Settings > General > Network. On Apple TV (4th generation), go to Settings > Network.
  • Choose the IthacaCollege-Guest Wi-Fi. No password is needed.
  • Join your iOS device or Apple computer to either the IthacaCollege-Guest or IthacaCollege Wi-Fi network. Now you should be able to Airplay your device to your Apple TV.

If you want to know more about how to use Airplay, please refer to the link below to get started: “How to AirPlay content from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch”  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204289
