It seems that our country is going through some changes that will affect everyone. When Sept. 11 2001 happened a group of IC faculty headed by me organized a teach-in class at Ithaca College and it helped many students understand what is going on. It seems timely to organize again something similar.
My name is Dani Novak and I used to teach Math at Ithaca College from 1981-2013. I am also a member of the local 2nd generation Holocaust survivors group in Ithaca. The experience that I had as a child of Holocaust survivors qualifies me to evaluate the current situation in the country as very dangerous. The key sentence is “never underestimate the power of evil” was the key message in the presentation that I am giving in local high schools about my mother’s life and the rule of fascism in Croatia (LINK)
I believe that it is time for young people to become aware and unite to help themselves and the country and I want to facilitate the process. If you are interested to be part of it, please email me (novak@ithaca.edu) and write also a paragraph about yourself and your skills. Also paste this paragraph and a few other questions in this linked form. Link to Form
Once I get a few students interested I will organize a meeting.
