Jack Wang, associate professor in the Department of Writing, has been longlisted for The Writers’ Trust of Canada / McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize for his short story “The Nature of Things.”

His story, set in Shanghai during the Second Sino-Japanese War, first appeared in The Malahat Review. The story will appear alongside eleven others in The Journey Prize Anthology 29, billed as “the best of Canada’s new writers."

The Journey Prize was endowed by James A. Michener with the Canadian proceeds from his novel Journey. The winner of the prize will be announced on November 14, 2017.
