In previous years, faculty have submitted requests to Public Safety for their students to have permission to be in academic buildings after-hours via e-mail.  This ensured that Public Safety was aware where students might be found in a building in case of emergency and that students found in a building after-hours had faculty permission to be there.  This year, an online form has been created to streamline and standardize the process for faculty to submit these requests.  All faculty who wish to grant permission to any of their students to be in an academic building after-hours should submit the required student information via the form at www.ithaca.edu/safety/accessrequests.

This form will ask faculty to provide the location they are giving students permission to be in and start and end dates for that approved access, and to identify each student this permission applies to.  Upon submission, a confirmation will be provided to the faculty member and a copy of the permission list will be filed at the Office of Public Safety dispatch center.

Thank you for your cooperation with this process to ensure the safety of our students and the security of our academic buildings.  For any questions, please contact Andrew Kosinuk (akosinuk@ithaca.edu) at the Office of Public Safety.
