Join one of Career Services’ "Holland Code" sessions and experience a brief, fun, and interactive exercise designed to help you identify what engages you the most and how can you pursue it throughout your college and career journey in the most exciting way. 87% of the world’s workforce is struggling to find meaning in what they do (Gallup, 2016); let’s break this pattern together and become part of our new generation of leaders who are preparing for their meaningful impact in the world through a clear career purpose and strategy.

Interests & Careers: Group Exploration Using the Strong Interest Inventory
The Strong Interest Inventory measures career and leisure interests and is used to aid people in making educational and career decisions. In these sessions (offered every other week) students will learn the components of John Holland’s Theory of Career Choice (on which the Strong Interest Inventory is based) and determine their own “Holland Code,” as well as receive their own customized Strong Interest Inventory College Report*.
DATE:            9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9, 11/30
TIME:             3:00-3:50 p.m.
LOCATION:   Career Services
*Registration on Handshake is required by 3 p.m. the previous day*
*Students MUST take the SII assessment no later than 2 p.m. the day of the workshop if they wish to receive a SII Career Report.

Holland Code Part 1: What's My Holland Code?
John Holland's Theory of Career Choice is based on the premises that, "people search for environments where they can use their skills and abilities and express their values and attitudes," and "people who choose to work in an environment similar to their personality type are more likely to be successful and satisfied". In these sessions, through an interactive activity, students will learn their Holland Code and first steps on how to apply it to career planning.

Holland Code Part 2: Using Your Holland Code for Career Action Planning**
In this session, students will use what they learned from doing the Holland Code Part 1 activity to further explore their Holland Code and its implications in career action planning.

TIME:           3:00-5:00 p.m. (Offered every half hour starting at 3:00)
LOCATION:  Clark & Klingenstein Lounges
*Registration on Handshake is required*
**Students must have participated in a Holland Code Part 1 activity to attend this session*
