First Annual Social Studies/History Teacher Alumni Mentor Workshop a SuccessContributed by Pearl Ponce on 10/10/17 Ithaca College Social Studies Teacher Education and History alumni are dedicated and successful teachers and administrators. An online network of 128 Ithaca College alumni members share resources, information, opinions, and community. This foundation has expanded with an Alumni Mentor workshop for teacher candidates and first year teachers. The first annual workshop took place on August 17, 2017. Alumni presenters included Angela Affronti, Bradley Benjamin, Rachel Corcoran, Paul Heiland, Kim Lasher, Matt Prokosch, and Alex Richmond. The next alumni worksop is on June 23, 2018 and will offer professional development credit for participating teachers. Please contact Zenon Wasyliw, Coordinator of Social Studies Teacher Education and Professor of History at wasyliw@ithaca.edu about attending the next workshop and possibly giving a presentation.
