Katie Burke and Amber Cloke, Academic Advisors from the Academic Advising Center (AAC), were invited to present at the National Academic Advising Association’s (NACADA) annual conference in St. Louis, Missouri on October 12th, 2017.

The presentation, titled "Bridging the Gap:  How a Transfer Student Seminar Can Provide the Necessary Tools and Support for Incoming Transfer Students," included information about Ithaca College’s one-credit Transfer Student Seminar, (which the academic advisors teach) and how the seminar addresses the unique needs of transfer students.

The presentation had nearly 100 attendees and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.  Many consulted with both Katie and Amber following the presentation to discuss how they plan on using the information presented to implement a similar seminar at their home institution.

The AAC is a part of the Center for Academic Advancement, which also includes Student Accessibility Services (SAS), and Tutoring Services. All offices are located in Rothschild Place.
