Madison O'Brien, a graduate student in the department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (SLPA), presented her poster with Yvonne Rogalski (SLPA faculty) at the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions in San Antonio Texas. The title of the poster was "Aphasia awareness and communication confidence at Ithaca College: A comparison between HSHP and non-HSHP schools."

O'Brien's research indicates that students in HSHP have more awareness of and education about "aphasia" (an acquired language disorder) than non-HSHP schools. HSHP students also reported feeling more confident about interacting with people with aphasia.
