Yvonne Rogalski, faculty in the speech-language pathology and audiology department, presented a poster titled “Interprofessional education through a monthly stroke support group” at the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions in San Antonio Texas. Authors include Jill Mayer (PT dept), Sarah Fishel (PT dept), Jessica Valdez-Taves (OT dept), Yvonne Rogalski (SLPA dept), Jan Monroe (Rec & Leisure dept), and Laura Gras (PT dept).

Findings indicate that student participation in a stroke support group increases their knowledge and awareness of other health professions and increases their understanding of the rehabilitation process and quality of life post-stroke.
