Tim Nord presented a paper at the national conference of the Association for Technology in Music Instruction and the College Music Society in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Nord presented his paper "Using HTML5 Audio Controls and Canvas to Help Students Understand Formal Segmentation" at the annual meeting of the Association for Technology in Music Instruction in San Antonio, TX on Oct. 27th. The session featured a web tool Dr. Nord wrote that is designed to help illustrate the formal segmentations of a musical example as well as being able to show alternative segmentations. When used in an aural context, this can help students to better understand what they are hearing and what composers used to establish these points of segmentation. |
