On November 1st Information Technology will launch our new IT Service Portal, powered by TeamDynamix. As part of our continual service improvement efforts, we are replacing our 14-year-old ticketing system with a much more robust suite of tools. The new IT Service Portal will be your “go to” place for finding technology answers and requesting IT services and help. The portal provides the following features:

  • A knowledge base with over 200 articles (and growing daily) on common technology topics
  • A service catalog to find and request IT services
  • “Front page” access to the most popular knowledge base articles
  • Prominent visibility of system notices
  • Contact information for the Service Desk and other support areas
  • A Student Info page with information about popular technology services specifically for students

While the above features are publicly visible, you get additional benefits by signing in:

  • Submit requests for IT services through the portal
  • View, comment on, add attachments to or even withdraw your active tickets
  • View your history of past tickets (for tickets submitted on or after November 1st)
  • Save “favorite” services that you access regularly
  • The ability to share links to services that others may find useful

Visit the IT Service Portal at https://ithaca.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/Home/ (be sure to bookmark the page!). You will also find it linked in the application list on apps.ithaca.edu, as well as on the IT home page.

For a period of time as we complete the transition from the old system to the new, the email notices you receive about your ticket updates will have two different formats, depending on which system the notice was sent from. 

Please be aware that “TeamDynamix” will often be seen in the email address of communications from the new system, as we want the campus community to be assured that this is a valid Information Technology communication. 

While we always feel strongly supported by our clients, we do want to ask for an extra bit of patience as our IT staff and students become familiar with the new system. We believe that the new IT Service Portal will become a vital tool in how we provide service and support to the campus community.

We're proud of our project team's efforts in making this a reality over about a 5 month period (Christine Davie, Nick Farthing, Bill Liddick, Karen Sunderland) and we look forward to being able to fully utilize its capabilities in the coming months.
