Registration is closing on Monday, December 4 for the December offering of the R.A.D. self-defense course for women, with just a few spots still available!  The class will be conducted as four three-hour sessions on December 5, 7, 12, and 14 (consecutive Tuesdays and Thursdays), and this specific program is open to any Ithaca College student who identifies as female.  This course is meant to be welcoming, positive, and accessible for any level of physical ability or previous experience in self-defense, including first-timers.

Classes will be conducted from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on each date and snacks and water will be provided.  Participants must be able to attend all four class dates to receive certification and access to free refresher training for life.  Course registration is $15 to defray printing and materials costs, and payment can be completed at the time of registration.  However, we never want financial difficulty to be a barrier to participation.  If waiving the registration cost would help you participate, please contact RAD coordinators Andrew Kosinuk (akosinuk@ithaca.edu) or Crystal Young (cyoung@ithaca.edu) directly to finalize your registration.

The requirement to make the specific R.A.D. copyrighted curriculum open to women only is a stipulation of the national R.A.D. office.  However, Ithaca College recognizes that sexual violence can impact anyone, and that any community member may be interested in opportunities for self-defense training.  Anyone on campus who does not identify as female and is interested in self-defense training options besides R.A.D. can contact the Office of Public Safety to discuss their needs.
