At the 2017 College Broadcasters Inc. National Student Electronic Media Convention, WICB & ICTV were recognized for outstanding on-air programming. In addition, recently retired Manager of Television & Radio Operations, Chris Wheatley, was presented with the Joel Willer Award for "exceptional dedication and service to student electronic media." 

IC Radio & Television took home the following honors:

Best Audio DJ
2nd Place - WICB -"DJ Michayla Savitt"

Best Video Sportscast
2nd Place - ICTV - "Hold That Thought"

Best Video Newscast
2nd Place - ICTV - "Newswatch"

Best Video News Reporting
4th Place - ICTV - "Contingent Faculty Union Protests"

The Joel Willer Award is not given out each year, but instead only when the organization feels a specific media advisor is exceptionally deserving. Chris Wheatley worked at his alma mater, Ithaca College, for 32-years before retiring this past June. 

The CBI NSEMC was held November 2nd - 4th in San Antonio, Texas.
