6 IC students presented papers at the Mid-Atlantic Popular  & American Culture Association’s annual conference on November 9-11.

The papers given were:

Naomi Hanson (History ’19) “Miss Piggy: A Feminist Babe”

Matt Radulski (Writing ’18) “Bad Dads: How Wesley Wyndham-Pryce Fails as a Father on Angel”

Sloane Kazim (Cin Photo ’18) “Gaming the System: How Video Games are Deconstructing Typical Creator-Fan Hierarchies”

Sappho Hocker (Cin Photo ’17) “Janelle Monáe: Androids and Intersectionality”

The students prepared for their presentations as a team, working with English Professor Katharine Kittredge throughout the first half of the semester.  Special thanks go to the team’s senior members, Matt, Sloane and Sappho for their astute comments and their mentorship; thanks to them, all of the IC presenters gave impeccably professional presentations.
