Emergency Snow Plowing Plan

Contributed by Carl Cohen on 11/25/17

The Residence Hall Snow Plowing Plan has been established to increase campus safety, increase the thoroughness of plowing efforts and reduce the time it takes to plow in parking lots generally used by residence hall students.

When snow has accumulated to the degree deemed necessary to initiate the plan, residential students will be notified to move their vehicles to pre-designated alternative parking lots between the hours of 6PM and 9PM.  Unless a snow emergency is declared, students will generally be notified at least 48 hours in advance through Intercom and Residential Life communication channels.  Grounds will notify Residential Life when the Residence Hall Parking Lot Snow Plowing Plan is to be initiated.  A message will be posted on Intercom by Grounds.  The same message will be sent to residence hall students via residence hall communication channels. When the plan is initiated residence hall students will be instructed to move their vehicles from residence hall lots no later than 6PM according to the schedule on this link.  Vehicles can be returned to their normal parking lots at 9PM.

Please refer to the link below for a map of the campus if you are not sure about location of your alternative parking lot.  Campus Map

Your cooperation is essential as we increase campus safety by thoroughly plowing lots in an effective and less time consuming manner.
