Please note that Fall Wait list requests expired on Monday, November 27th.  Any student interested in changing rooms during the Spring Semester may submit a Spring Wait list application at the Office of Residential Life beginning January 22, 2017.  Spring wait list applications will be due by Friday, January 26, 2017.

Winter Vacancy Requests:  As the fall semester comes to a close, some students may have an expected or unexpected vacancy in their room or apartment as students depart for study abroad and graduation. Whether you anticipate a vacancy or not, the Office of Residential Life recommends that you complete a vacancy request form. The vacancy request designates the individual student that you would like to pull into your room/apartment in the event that a space opens.  If a vacancy occurs in your room or apartment and we do not have this form on file, we will assign the space to a student interested in living in your area.

  • Winter Vacancy forms are available now in the Office of Residential Life and will be due Friday, December 8th by 5:00 pm
  • Any vacancy request received after December 8, 2017 at 5:00 pm cannot be guaranteed and the space may be filled by the Office of Residential Life.

Room Buyout Option: Students who have a current vacancy in their room or apartment may request a “buyout” for the spring 2018 semester. This option allows a student to reserve and hold the additional bed space. The room buyout fee is $350 for the spring semester, and may be shared by students who are buying out a space in an apartment. Buyout request forms are available in the Office of Residential Life office and are due by 5:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2017.

Please contact us with any questions at the Residential Life Office, East Tower Lobby, 274-3141, or housing@ithaca.edu.
