Lab17, a senior level capstone course at Ithaca College, is hosting a client showcase on Thursday, December 14 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The showcase will take place in the Third Floor Breezeway Lounges of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.
Throughout the fall semester, Lab17 has been working with clients from a wide range of industries including sports, culinary, consumer goods, small business, micro-influencer, nonprofit and research. Lab17’s client showcase is the culmination of the semester, allowing agency staff the opportunity to present their campaign proposals to clients and the Ithaca community.
Lab17’s research team will also present the findings of their digital survey at the client showcase. The survey, which launched in late October, investigates digital media use trends across all age demographics to observe how technology has shaped communication methods over time. The research team was granted approval by Ithaca College’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) in March 2017, and they received a James B. Pendleton Student Research Grant in November.
“The research team has worked very hard on perfecting and distributing the survey this semester. We’ve received just over one thousand responses, and our goal is to achieve two thousand by Dec. 8. It will be extremely rewarding for us to present a semester’s worth of hard work at the showcase. As a senior who is only six months away from graduation, I am confident that the experience I gained from Lab17 will help me transition smoothly into the workplace,” says Jessica Caruso, member of Lab17’s research team.
“The opportunity that this apprentice-style environment offers creates success for both students and future employers,” says Professor Ann-Marie Adams, instructor for Lab17.
Lab17 welcomes Ithaca College students and faculty, members of the press, residents of the Ithaca community, and friends and family of Lab17 staff to celebrate the agency’s achievements at the client showcase.
