The Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen LGBTQ film series will present a free public showing of the documentary “How To Survive a Plague” on Tuesday, Dec 5. The screening will take place at 7 p.m. in Textor 101. The screening is in observance of World AIDS Day, and the film tells the story of how activism and innovation turned AIDS from a death sentence into a manageable condition. It chronicles mostly HIV-positive activists, advocates and allies who, faced with their own mortality, broke the mold as improbable, radical warriors taking on Washington and the medical establishment.

The Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen series is sponsored by the Ithaca College Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Education, Outreach, and Services. For more information, visit www.ithaca.edu/lgbt.
