If you have ever wanted to engage in discussions of race and ethnicity, but did not know where to start, this is the class for you. Using films, readings and other online resources, students will discuss key concepts related to issues of race and ethnicity in the U.S.such as: race, ethnicity, assimilation, immigration, racism, prejudice, stratification, whiteness, model minority, etc. The course is designed to use historical events to shed light on contemporary issues.
