Contributed on behalf of Linda Petrosino, Provost & VPEA:

I am pleased to provide the following update to the campus community regarding staffing within the Office of the Provost:

Angela Ellis joined our team on October 30 as an administrative assistant.  Her responsibilities include supporting the Integrative Core Curriculum (ICC), Committee on College-wide Requirements (CCR), Dana and Emerson Internships, Cornell Library cards, Middle States, and ROTC program.  Angela comes to the College from the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Computer Science, where she held positions as Undergraduate Advisor and Program Administrator.

Kathi Powers became the administrative assistant to the Office of Civic Engagement and the Honors Program on April 3 providing administrative support as well as event planning for both offices.

The Office of Civic Engagement and the Honors Program are located on the garden level of the Peggy Ryan Williams Center, Room 072.  Kathi’s previous position was an administrative assistant to Student Accessibility Services at Ithaca College.

Michelle Rios-Dominguez joined the office on November 20 as the Associate Director for Faculty Recruitment and Retention. She manages the annual faculty reappointment process, coordinates submission of faculty reviews, tenure and promotion, and sabbaticals and assists with Faculty Council, Faculty Handbook Amendment Committee and other faculty committees.  Michelle will also serve as the primary resource for faculty recruitment and retention issues.  Michelle comes to us from Tompkins County where she was Manager in Talent Acquisition and Engagement.

Other important transitions in the office include Stephanie St. John who is the new Academic Operations Specialist and is responsible for providing operational support for curriculum, assessment, graduate, and sponsored research programs, which includes staffing the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), Research Council, Graduate Council, and Academic Policies Committee (APC).  She also assists staff and faculty with submission of externally-funded grants. Stephanie was previously an administrative assistant in the Office of the Provost.

And finally, MaryAnn Taylor started a new role as Executive Assistant to the Provost on September 1.  She provides direct assistance and executive support to the provost and serves as the primary contact for internal and external constituencies in representing the office. She oversees the administrative operations of the Provost’s Office and leads special projects, events and initiatives in addition to personnel management.

The Office of the Provost has a current position opening for an Administrative Assistant whose responsibilities will include coordinating and providing support for the Ithaca Seminar program (ICSM) and the steering committee, coordinating the college-wide Whalen Symposium, the National Council on Undergraduate Research (NCUR), and supporting the Phi Kappa Phi program as well as the new Title IX Coordinator, Linda Koenig.

Please stop by and say hello to the staff in the office.
