OSEMA’s Alternative Spring Break Program is in need of an adviser for a volunteer trip to Detroit this March. In Detroit, students will work CASS Community Social Services, an organization that is dedicated to dedicated to providing food, housing, health services, and job programs in the Detroit area. ASB Advisers assist with driving IC vehicles, serve as the group’s emergency contact, assure that all IC and OSEMA policies are followed, and manage the group’s budget and itinerary. Advisers assume NO personal financial cost while traveling with the ASB program; it’s an all-expense paid opportunity to travel and volunteer with students! Advisers are asked to attend a brief ASB orientation in February to help them prepare for the trip. The time frame for ASB 2018 is Sunday, March 11 through Saturday, March 17. Advisers have a huge impact on the quality of OSEMA’S ASB program. Every year students come back to IC with stories about their ASB trip, and they always talk about how much of a positive impact their advisers had on their experience! And without an adviser, we cannot send students on the trip. So, if you’re excited about the opportunity to travel and volunteer with students this spring, please be in touch via email at austin@ithaca.edu or contact the OSEMA office at 607 274 3222 |
