Calling all Students, Faculty and Staff! Do you play a wind or percussion instrument? Do you love band music? Do you miss playing your instrument? Regardless of your level of experience, we cordially invite you to join the Ithaca College Campus Band! The ensemble rehearses every Monday from 6-7:50PM in the Whalen Center for Music right in the heart of campus and is led by Aaron Burgess and Greg Harris, graduate wind conductors in the IC School of Music. Here are a few facts about the ensemble: · The IC Campus Band is one of four concert bands at Ithaca College! (IC has a long and proud industry-leading concert band tradition!!!) · We welcome faculty and staff to join us! · The ensemble is made up of students (faculty and staff) from all departments on campus! · There is NO audition for membership. · There are NO dues. · Students may earn elective credit or participate for zero credit. · You may borrow an instrument from the school of music. · Members have access to practice facilities and school of music resources. · The ensemble gives two performances per semester in beautiful Ford Hall. · While it is expected that you will attend all rehearsals, conflicts do arise…and we are almost always able to accommodate these conflicts. · We play a broad range of music from across the concert band repertoire – something for all tastes! · WE HAVE FUN!!! “Playing in the campus band gave me an opportunity to pull out an old instrument and play in a group setting again. If you miss playing in a music ensemble, this is a great, no-pressure, inclusive group for you to consider!” – Kristina Shanton, IC Music Librarian and member of the campus band Please reach out to either of us if you are interested in joining the ensemble or are looking for additional information. We look forward to speaking with you!
