Please read this entire notification as it contains information to assist you in the Windows 10 upgrade of your college owned Windows-based personal computer.

PC's subject to the Windows 10 upgrade MUST be on campus and connected to either Ithaca College wireless or via Ethernet cable. Ethernet cable is strongly suggested and preferred.

We are requesting your assistance in upgrading your Windows 7 computer to Windows 10 and strongly encourage use of the self-service tools to upgrade prior to Friday, March 9.

Any college-owned computer not upgraded by March 9 will automatically be updated during the week of Spring Break (March 12-March 16).

This work is part of our effort to bring all campus owned Windows-based personal computers to the most stable and secure version of Windows.  Already over 1,630 Windows 7 PC’s on campus have been upgraded and are using Windows 10.

Over Spring Break (March 12-March 16), Information Technology will perform a remote installation of Windows 10 to all PC’s that have not upgraded, which could be disruptive to some individuals. By self-initiating the Windows 10 upgrade following these simple instructions, you can upgrade when it is convenient for you and avoid any disruptions to your workday.

We suggest initiating the Windows 10 upgrade before leaving the office at the end of the day; Friday before leaving for the weekend is a great time to do it. Upon returning to the office, the PC will have completed the upgrade and be ready to use.
