Professor Filiz Garip (Cornell University) will present findings from her recently published book On the Move: Changing Mechanisms of Mexico-U.S. Migration. 

Dr. Garip’s path breaking studies on immigration consider the how resources and social policies shape the immigrant experience. Dr. Garip received the Harold W. Dodds Honorific Fellowship at Princeton and was a member of the Woodrow Wilson Society of Fellows. At Harvard, she received the George Kahrl Excellence in Teaching Award. She serves as a consulting editor for the American Journal of Sociology and Sociological Science.

This is an Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honors Society Speaker Series event, sponsored by the Department of Sociology. All members of the campus community are welcomed. Reception and refreshments served.
