REGARDING SUSAN SONTAG: Women's and Gender Studies, in conjunction with the LGBTQ Film Series, presents the film and Jennifer Spitzer as discussant on Thursday, February 22, in Gertrude Stein's salon!Contributed by Carla Golden on 02/19/18 Regarding Susan Sontag explores the life of Susan Sontag from her early infatuation with books and her first experience in a gay bar, to her marriage in adolescence, through to her last lover. The film is a fascinating look at Sontag, a towering cultural critic and writer whose works on photography, war, illness, and terrorism still resonate today. The Spring 2018 Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen LGBT Film Series has brought the film to Ithaca College and in collaboration with the Women's and Gender Studies Program will host this screening in the Handwerker Gallery at 6 pm on Thursday, February 22nd. Jennifer Spitzer, Assistant Professor in the English Department will introduce the film and serve as a discussant.
