As a result of extensive collaborative work between current athletic training majors, recent graduates (Class of 2017) and current faculty, NINE different abstracts were submitted for peer review to the 2018 National AThletic Trainers' Association Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposium, to be held in New Orleans, LA in June, 2018. All 9 professional abstracts were accepted and will be presented in either poster or oral format at the upcoming meeting.

Under the direction and stewardship of Dr. Jennifer M. McKeon, PhD, ATC, CSCS, and research assistance from Dr. Patrick O. McKeon, PhD, ATC, CSCS, Associate Clinical Professor, Mrs. Courtney Gray, MS, ATC and Clinical Instructor, Ms. Katie Sheehan, MS, ATC, 7 different research abstracts involving 3 Athletic Training graduates from the Class of 2017 and 5 current athletic training majors from the Class of 2018 were submitted to the professional category (not student category) and were accepted for Free Communications presentations in New Orleans. This 100% acceptance rate for undergraduate projects submitted in the professional category for the national AT conference is extremely rare and represents outstanding and exemplary scholarly work on behalf of those involved.

 

Special congratulations go out to senior AT majors, Matthew Booth, Alessandra Marenzi, Sophie Knittle, Hannah Robison and Diana Zaichenko, and to recent alumni, Jacob Powell, Trevor Thompson and Erin McNulty!
