Students graduating in 2020 or 2021: Apply to be the next Student Trustee!Contributed by Michele Lenhart on 03/04/18 Ithaca College is inviting applications from current students who are interested in serving a two-year term as the next Student Trustee. The term begins in May 2018 and runs until May 2020. The Student Trustee is a full voting member of the Board of Trustees and is expected to share the student perspective as a contributing member. The Student Trustee is expected to attend the 3 scheduled trustee meetings each year (October, February, and May). There may be additional meetings called as necessary, particularly for individual committees the trustee may be a member of. In addition, the student trustee may be asked to attend other meetings and/or events on campus when appropriate. Trustees also participate and march in Commencement and Convocation each year (May and August). It is expected the Student Trustee will participate in full Board meetings as well as sit on 2-3 additional committees. Trustees have the opportunity to state their preference regarding which committees they would like to participate in but there is no guarantee of assignment. Committee membership is re-assigned each year, and may or may not be the same assignment each year. Click here for a full list of the current committees. Candidates must be first-year or sophomore students in good academic and judicial standing. The Student Trustee must commit to remaining on campus for the entirety of his/her tenure for two years. Applicants should be available the weekend of April 7-8 for a 30-minute interview with the screening committee. Applications are now open and the deadline to apply is 5:00pm on Thursday, March 22. Click here to apply! If you any have questions about the position or the selection process, please contact the current Student Trustee, Elijah Greene '18. |
