Call for Application / Nomination: School of Humanities and Sciences Assistant Dean for Student Services As previously announced (https://www.ithaca.edu/intercom/article.php/20180212135255594?utm_source=Intercom-roundup&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=facstaff#.WoPZhEFOnYU), School of Humanities and Sciences Assistant Dean for Student Services Kathy Lucas will retire from the College on March 31, 2018 (a reception in her honor is scheduled for March 26, at 4 pm, at the Handwerker Gallery), and a search for her replacement would soon begin with details forthcoming. The position has now been approved and the search authorized. We invite applications / nominations from interested and qualified staff and faculty. This is a full-time staff position (twelve-month appointment) open to all current Ithaca College staff or faculty members. A summary of the position is as follows: Participate in the administrative and academic affairs of the School of Humanities and Sciences and assist the Dean in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, programs and operations. Direct student academic affairs to include academic status, admissions, orientation, registration, and academic evaluations and oversee maintenance of student records. Monitor and approve student academic actions. Direct the academic advising services and provide administrative and advising functions of the Exploratory Program within the School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S). Prepare School’s fall and spring course schedules. Serve as resource person for faculty advisors and develop and present workshops and informational materials. Oversee and approve study abroad applications. Direct H&S Commencement activities.
