Fall 2018 final exam schedule

Contributed by Vikki Levine on 04/05/18

Thank you to everyone that completed the academic calendar survey. The survey results have given us an opportunity to consider strategic changes as we build future calendars and make impactful incremental shifts to already published calendars.

On behalf of the Academic Calendar Committee and in consultation with the provost, Faculty Council and the Student Governance Council I am pleased to announce that Ithaca College will pilot a 4-day final exam schedule during the fall 2018 term.

The official last day of the fall 2018 term is now Thursday, December 20, 2018 instead of Friday, December 21, 2018. The new exam schedule can be found at https://www.ithaca.edu/registrar/schedule/.

We look forward to your feedback, via an additional survey, that will be conducted in December 2018 after the pilot exam week.

Attention Faculty and Staff:

Student Accessibility Services works each semester to recruit faculty and staff as volunteer proctors for final exam week. Proctors administer exams, monitor students, clarify instructions, and collect completed exams.  The main purpose of the proctor is to ensure integrity of the exam and a safe and conducive testing space for students taking exams with approved accommodations. SAS staff will train you on the process and procedures if you are willing and able to assist.

If you are interested in volunteering to serve as a proctor, please contact Leslie Reid, Manager of Student Accessibility Services.  If you know a colleague who may be interested in proctoring for SAS, please feel free to forward this information to them, or let them know they can SAS if they have questions.
