The United States Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants from Washington, D.C. perform at ICContributed by Alexandria Kemp on 04/06/18 The United States Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants will perform at Ithaca College on Wednesday, April 11 at 7:00pm in Ford Hall. There will also be a talk at 6:15-6:45 in Hockett Family Recital Hall with the conductor and members of the ensemble, which is open to the public. Tickets are free, but should be reserved at usafband.eventbrite.com (Doors will open to non-ticketholders at 6:45). The U.S. Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants are two of the six performing ensembles within The United States Air Force Band, the premier musical organization of the U.S. Air Force, and are stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C. “The U.S. Air Force Band uses the power of music to inspire our audiences worldwide, create innovative products and programs, and represent Air Force excellence. This excellence is showcased in the technical prowess and virtuosity required to perform this tour’s musical repertoire. Selections range from classic wind band pieces such as William Schuman’s “Chester” to “A Night at the Opera” featuring the Singing Sergeants in crowd-pleasing arias. Tours concerts will also include exciting modern works like John Mackey’s “Antique Violences,” which will feature principal trumpet Technical Sgt.
