Bill McKibben: "Hot Times: Reports from the Front Lines of the Climate Fight"Contributed by Rebecca Evans on 04/10/18 Submitted on behalf of the School of Business Sustainability Committee, IC Impact, and the Office of Energy Management & Sustainability WEDNESDAY, 11 APRIL, 7 PM - GLAZER ARENA: Ithaca College welcomes world renowned journalist, author, and environmentalist: Bill McKibben. Considered the “world’s best green journalist” by Time Magazine; Bill McKibben is one of the most well known and respected writers about the effects of global climate change. Following his graduation from Harvard University, Bill McKibben has published over 15 critically acclaimed books, been at the forefront of a number of sustainability focused political movements such as Step It Up, 350.org, and People’s Climate March, as well as educating people around the country on a number of ever present environmental issues. More recently, he worked as a political surrogate for the campaign of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders in 2016. For his continuous work to fight climate change, he has been the recipient of the Gandhi Peace Award, the John Muir Award, along with many others. During this event, Mr. McKibben will be discussing his experience as a leader in his relentless battle against climate change, and provide the audience with the tools that we can all use to take a stand against a looming environmental crisis. |
