FLEFF explores the questions of migrants and migrancy as part of thinking through geographies through four special screenings at Cinemapolis.  

The films are from Mexico, China, Singapore, and the UK. All feature post screening discussion.

Bitter Money (Wang Bing, China, 2015) This extraordinary film from Wang Bing, one of the world’s most renowned documentary filmmakers, chronicles the lives of China’s internal migrants working for long house in noisy, stifling garment factories.

Lupe Under the Sun (Rodrigo Reyes, Mexico/USA, 2015) An aging Mexican migrant faces his life’s choices and tries to reconnect with his past. Post screening discussion with Rodrigo Brandao from Cinema Slate, the film’s distributor, moderated by Dr. Matt Holtmeier.
