FLEFF has programmed eight groundbreaking films from Brazil, Mexico and Argentina that span documentary, feminist film, realist drama, archival film, horror, environmental film, and art cinema for our 20th anniversary edition.

Lupe Under the Sun (Rodrgio Reyes, Mexico, 2016) An aging Mexican migrant faces his life’s choices and tries to reconnect with his past.

Paulina (Santiago Mitre, Argentina, 2017)Paulina moes back home to teach in a suburban high school, after being assaulted by a gang.

The Cloud Forest (Monica Alvarez Franco, Mexico, 2017) Permacultural response to ecological threats in the cloud forest of Vera Cruz Mexico

Zama (Lucretia Martel, Argentina, 2017) Based on a novel about Don Diego de Zama, a 17th century Spanish officer, settled in Asuncion, who awaits his transfer to Buenos Aires.
