 We are currently actively seeking faculty and staff who are willing to be a part of the Ithaca Seminar program.

 Ithaca Seminars offer an opportunity to connect with first-year students in a way that will shape their academic and individual life experiences leading to a successful transition to Ithaca College; we are seeking passionate educators who are enthusiastic about helping first-year students thrive in their new academic setting, as well as in their campus community.

The goals of the Ithaca Seminar Program are to:

  • Offer first-year students an intellectual liberal arts experience in a small class setting;
  • Provide a classroom experience where students will learn to analyze and critically evaluate ideas, arguments, and points of view;
  • Introduce students to the Integrative Core Curriculum and their electronic portfolio;
  • Connect learning with other aspects of academic and college life to help first year students make a successful transition to college

Additional perks for teaching an Ithaca Seminar course:

  • Significant support in course development
  • Eligibility for a course development summer grant
  • Eligibility for up to four credits of overload
