Global Health will be offered online during Summer Session I beginning May 29-June 29 Attribute pending: (ICC) Diversity Course description: Why are some people in some countries so much healthier than others? This course will explore the factors that explain the unequal distribution of health and disease in the world. Students will analyze the underlying causes of disease, and the rationale for and modes of interventions to improve global health by exploring a number of case-studies, current crisis, and high-profile topics. The course will incorporate knowledge and views from multiple academic disciplines (public health, economics, politics, sociology) and does not require any background health knowledge. Prerequisites: One social science course. 3 credits.
