As residents prepare to move out at the end of the semester, we ask you to be mindful of safety concerns related to insuring access to emergency response vehicles to residence halls.    The Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management asks that you abide by the following safety standards:

Items being loaded from residence hall rooms must be packed and ready to move before your car is parked near your residence hall.

Student should gain assistance from fellow residents or family members so that belongings can be moved quickly and safely.

During move-out, students will be permitted to briefly park in fire lanes and signed no parking zones.

Loading will be limited to 15-minutes to insure maximum safety and turnover.

Vehicles that are parked in fire lanes and no parking zones for more than 15-minutes will be subject to ticketing and towing.

There is no parking allowed on sidewalks or on the lawn.

An attempt must be made for a driver to stay with the vehicle so it can be moved promptly if an emergency should occur.  Others can assist in loading the belongings into the vehicles.

Students must print and fill out a 15-Minute Loading Permit that is being emailed to all resident students with name, residence hall room and cell phone number and place it your dashboard.  This will allow Public Safety to contact you if your vehicle needs to be moved.
